Bus #3758

Copied from MTA's flyer:

First arrival in the fleet: 1963
Years of Operation: 1693 - 1982
Operator: NYCTA and MaBSTOA
Service Operated: All Boroughs
Manufacturer: General Motors
Model: 5303

Notes of special interest:
The 5303s were the second generation of "New Look" buses, a/k/a "Dreamliners" (Los Angeles). These buses were the type that began to replace the older MaBSTOA GMC and Mack buses in the City of New York acquired from Fifth Avenue Coach Lines in 1962. MaBSTOA would have a total of 1560 5303s by 1967. NYCTA received total 350 of these 5303s in 1963 (MaBSTOA received 255) to replace 1948 vintage GMC buses. The seating arrangement was the same as 5301s, except that the longitudinal seats in MaBSTOA buses were painted green, while the NYCTA buses were painted gray. The bus features gray seats in front, red seats in rear, and has a Formica ceiling.
